Welcome to the new school year 2011-2012

We missed you all and hope you had a wonderful summer break! During the summer, we have been very busy with projects on campus. As always, thank you to Mickey Mack for preparing the whole campus – inside and out – for the first day of school. And thank you to Daniel Mendoza (parent) for helping Mickey! A special “thank you” to Stina Losak (parent) for clearing and maintaining our garden areas – they look amazing! Stina will be our Garden Coordinator this school year, and has also volunteered to share her Botany expertise with 5th grade who study this as part of their curriculum. Also, Paul Artlip (parent) beautified our classrooms by installing new cabinets in grades 1-8. And with the help of parent volunteers, Jason Page and Jeremy Whitaker, he created lots of shade on the playground by building a new gazebo over the sand pit area. The students and staff LOVE it! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to repair our parking lot as planned because the price tag came in too high -- - $150,000. We are currently searching for grants to pay for this huge project. Here’s to another incredible year together!
